About Us

We are third generation farmers who are tenants of the Wentworth Fitzwilliam Estate. We diversified into Christmas Trees in 2001 following a substantial agricultural recession and the advent of Foot and Mouth. Since then we have looked to grow the business by planting more trees each year and finding like minded growers throughout the country who we can work with. We now supply trees on a wholesale basis to many local garden centres and farm shops and as well as our retail site at the farm we also sell our Christmas trees online. Furthermore, along side the trees we offer a complimentary range of top quality Christmas tree stands, lights and decorations

About the animals

As farmers we have always dealt with livestock, mainly pedigree cattle. So it was relatively easy for us in 2002 when we acquired out first pair of reindeer, Comet and Cupid. These animals were rarely seen in the UK and are still a great attraction for families at Christmas time. This year we have let Comet move to another farm and we have a replacement male who is almost purely white - something we had not seen before and we are sure you won't have either!

As well as the reindeer, we also have two donkeys who come and stay with us over the winter. Patch and Fudge spend their summers on the beach at Scarborough, but come November, they arrive with us for a well earned holiday and as many carrots as they can eat!!

About our trees

Here at Billingley Christmas Tree Farm we offer several varieties of Christmas Trees from our retail site. These include;
  • Nordman Fir: The most popular low drop variety in the UK with lovely, soft, deep green needles
  • Norway Spruce - The traditional Christmas tree with short, prickly needles and a great aroma. This variety has poor needle retention.
  • Fraser Fir - The US favourite, growing in popularity in the UK. This variety has soft green needles that are silver on the underside and have a lovely citrus aroma.

The Nordman and Norway Spruce can be seen growing around the farm along with less common varieties such as Blue Spruce and Serbian Spruce. Feel free to walk in the plantations and see how your trees are grown. You will see that for us , quality is paramount.
